Results Camping Trip
On Wednesday we set off to Louch Dan after opening our junior cert results. My bag was packed full of clothes, food and cooking supplies. Once at the campsite we all erected our tents. This was a tedious procedure. we set off for our first walk that afternoon. This was a 6km walk which we completed with ease. This was followed by lovely burgers by the fire for dinner. We had to keep the fire alight ourselves which we did well throughout the trip. We were in bed with lights out at 11pm each night. On Thursday morning we did a 24km hike around the lake. It was a beautiful walk. We then swam in the afternoon to refresh ourselves. The next morning we packed up and piled onto the buses home. I had a great experience and learnt many new things and am now able to tick a challenge off my gaisce checklist.
Kairo's
On Friday our form visited Kairo's in Maynooth. Kairo's was a film studio that we visited to create a television broadcast from scratch. We organised a basic outline and characters in English class before we went. We decided to do a news segment and a Jeremy Kyle show. Every person had a different role in the production. I was in charge of sound. I controlled the music and all the other audio effects in the studio. I didn't think that this trip was going to appeal to me very much but in the end I really enjoyed the experience. It was surprisingly intense to get the different audio segments out on time. Timing was key in my role. I also enjoyed seeing all the talent my class mates have. I'm really happy I had the chance to take part in this activity as I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I would also definitely be more open to employment in the television industry.
